A great field of 14 players were out today for the first round of the Summer Cup in smokey conditions.
Fantastic to see three juniors out playing.
Welcome Riley Lappin for his first competition hit and Nathan Phillpotts for his first Sunday comp.
It was all the juniors up the top.
After just getting their handicaps, they will certainly take a hit and be lower next week.
The winner today was Ollie Read (27) with 42 points!
Runner up was Alastair Merritt (29) 39 points.
Ball winners on 38 points were Jamie Donly (10) and Andy Croome (12).
Jamie has now hit single figures for the first time.
Next to follow were Peter Smith (20) 37, Nathan Phillpotts (17) 37, Zane Howard (2) 37, Phil Pelgrim (16) 37 and George Ward (20) 37.
A lot of handicaps went down with these scores.
Nearest the pins went to Andy Croome on the 3rd and 10th and Zane Howard was the closest on the 17th.
Don’t forget next Sunday is the second round of the Summer Cup.
If you missed the first round, you can still be in the running as your best 3 out of 4 rounds will count.

Thursday Twilight golf is back to normal. 4:30-5pm hit off with the BBQ back on this week.

On Thursday 8 brave souls went out and played twilight golf.
Although we did go out in 4 carts, so it didn’t feel too hot.
We faced off in two teams of Ambrose.
Jarryd Pritchard, Jamie Dolny, Graeme Cordy and Jacko Wells Vs Dylan Pool, Josh Carr, Rod Shaw and Nathan Phillpotts.
Both teams recorded a 4 under 30, so it was decided that it was a tie.
Hopefully some cooler weather this coming Thursday and we see a bigger field for twilight.
The clubhouse and bar will be open from 4pm this afternoon, regardless of whether you want to go out and play Twilight.

First up is the 2026 Summer Cup.
This event is 4 rounds of Stableford, with your best 3 scores to count.
This is open to Men, Women and Juniors.
Usual hit off time of 11:30 for 12 hit off.
If you can’t play at this time and have a group to play with, you can play earlier.
Just let us know.
The other important thing is the Mens Pennant.
This will start early Match I think.
Please put your name down to represent the club. $10 to play all over the North East.

A couple of groups out today for a Stableford round.
The winner was George Ward (22) with 37 points.
Jamie Dolny (10) was runner up with 36 points.
Zane Howard (20) also claimed a ball with his 35 points.
Andy Croome took home the only nearest the pin on the 10th.
Next Sunday will be the first round of the Summer Cup.
The 4 rounds will take place on Sunday January 11th and Sunday January the 18th.
The final two rounds will be in February.
The format is Stableford and the best three out of four rounds are to count.
