Good field of 14 players today in a rather windy and fresh winters day.
The July Monthly Medal was what was on offer.
Our newest member Andrew Field seemed to be playing a different course to everyone else as he won the day with a fantastic two under off the stick 66 off a 5 handicap for a nett 61.
Which was good enough to win by 10 shots from the runner up Hollie Goodwin 85/14/71.
Relegated to third was Peter Smith with 90/19/71.
Other ball winners were Dylan Pool (2) 72, Jacob Howard (9) 72, Dean Howard (12) 72 and Rod Shaw (22) 72.
Nearest the pins went to Darren McCormick on the 5th, Hollie Goodwin and Dylan Pool on the 10th.
Just a heads up to everyone that the crows are on the prowl.
Just ask Darren McCormick who had two yellow balls stolen in two consecutive holes.
Next Sunday we have six members heading to Oaklands for their Tournament.
At Beechworth there will be a Stableford event. 11:30 for 12 hit off.

A very icy start this morning for women’s Wednesday golf today.
It was a 3 person 4 ball event with the winners for the day being
Donya Collins, Marije van Epenhuijsen and Hollie Goodwin with a score of 50.
Next was Glenda Marshall, Pam Nankervis and Jacqui Cato with a score of 44
In third was the team of Gail Smith, Deb Tully and Coral Ward with a score of 36.
Pretty sure everyone was happy to get back to the club rooms for some of Gail’s delicious warm soup.
Well done everyone for braving the cold.

On Sunday a small but quality field of 6 players fronted up for a Stableford round in what was threatening conditions.
After some light drizzle on the first few holes the rain cleared and conditions were pretty good.
Rod Shaw (21) blitzed the field with 38 points, his next closest competitor was George Ward (21) four shots behind with 34 points.
Next to followe were Dylan Pool (1) 32, Dave Clark (13) 30, Jacob Howard (9) 29 and Andy Croome (12) 28.
Rod claimed the only nearest the pin on the 10th.
There were also two first round matches played in the Handicap Matchplay.
Jacob Howard defeated Andy Croome 3&2 and Dylan Pool was made to go all the way against Dave Clark winning 2 up.
Last Wednesday a versus par event was played.
Hollie Goodwin won the day with -2, Marije Van Epenhuijsen was runner up with -4.
Glenda Marshall was next with -5.
Pam Nankervis won nearest the pin on the 10th and Gail Smith was closest on the 17th.
Wednesday golf is 8:30 for 9am hit off.
This Sunday is the July Monthly Medal. 11:30 for 12 hit off.
Everyone is welcome on both days.
