I have “fond” memories of the St James golf course and the 31 bindiis I pulled out of my buggy tyres.😂
Yesterday on a bleak winters day with a top of 7 degrees, 13 players still fronted up for a Stableford round. This included two juniors, who took home the top two placings.
The winner was George Pfahlert who off a 36 handicap had 39 points.
Runner up was Ashton Leary who has dropped 12 shots off his handicap in four weeks.
And will drop even more after his 36 points.
Ball winners were Zane Howard 35 and Dean Howard 35.
Andrew Field claimed the only nearest the pin on the 10th.
But im sure was more happy with his chip in eagle on the 18th which netted him beers to the tune of about 18 of them.
Next Sunday will be the August Monthly Medal.

Sorry no photo from Beechworth, but here is the terrible scenery at Hoiana Shores in Vietnam.
On Sunday there was a great field of 16 players who fronted up for a Stableford round on a cracking Winters day.
We had 6 juniors and 10 adults playing.
So we ran two comps.
The best two scores of the day came from the juniors.
Ashton Leary won’t be playing off 29 much longer after recording 41 points to win from George Pfahlert (36) who had 39 points for runner up on a countback.
Ball winners in the juiniors were Zac Whitmore (37) 39 points and Kayden Ross (36) 38 points.
In the Seniors (Adults) comp Jacko Wells (14) won the day with 38 points.
Runner up was Andrew Field (1) with 36 points.
Ball winners were non existent as no one else reached 30 points.
Nearest the pins went to Andy Croome on the 10th and Rod Shaw on the 17th.
Next Sunday will be another Stableford event.

Well what a fantastic day for our Life Members 3 person Ambrose day.
Let’s be honest, the weather was not great, the course was wet, but the spirits and enthusiasm from all players made the day a huge success and great fun.
The afternoon tea was fantastic, so thanks to all the members who helped out there.
We has 33 players, which was beyond belief giving the conditions.
We welcomed quite a few visitors, and some new players for their first competition.
And 4 juniors as well.
The winners of the day were visitors Grant Kimball, Max Kimball and Dave Purtill with 66/56 1/6.
Runners up with 63/57 2/3 were Glenda Marshall, Jacko Wells and Dylan Pool.
They beat Rod Shaw, Charles Stewart and Ben Van Kesteren on a countback with 64/57 2/3.
Ball winners were Josh Carr, Hollie Goodwin and Zoe Gephart with 58 2/3, John Wilson, Josh Furze and Mitch Kohn with 59 1/6, the team of our juniors Ashton Leary, Zac Whitmore and Jack Ritzen with 61 1/3, Nathan Scott, Zane Howard and Andrew Field with 61.5.
Only two nearest the pins went off today, and they went to Nathan Scott on the 5th and John Wilson on the 7th.
The Junior longest drive was won by Max Kimball, the Women’s winner was Hollie Goodwin and the Men’s winner was Charles Stewart.
Andrew Field claimed the meat tray in the raffle.
It was great to have Life Members Pam Nankervis and Glenda Marshall out there today as well.
Next Sunday will be a Stableford event.
