This Saturday we will be having a working Bee.

Rock up from 8:30am.
Tasks to be taken out will be burning off and general tidying up around the course.

So if you love fire and are a pyromaniac this is the working bee for you.

It would be good to see some new faces out there.

A dissapointing very small field fronted up today for the May Monthly Medal.

Jamie Dolny (17) was the winner with 71 nett on a countback from George Ward (21) 71.

It would be good to see a few more turning back up on Sunday's now that pennant has finished.
Next week will be a Stableford event.
11:30 for 12 noon hit off.

Also next Sunday is Bethanga's Tournament. 8:30 for 9 start.
The NEDGA Sandgreen Championships are being played at Rutherglen in a fortnight on Sunday May 29.

It would be great to see quite a few Beechworth players represented at Rutherglen.

If you are want to play in either event get in contact with Dylan.

Gail Smith had a great day coming runner up in the B Grade. Glenda also won a ball in the ball rundown.
Great golfing on miserable conditions.

No competition golf at Beechworth today due to pennant.
We hosted Section 3 handicap at Beechworth and a big thanks must go to George Ward who was out early this morning raking the greens after an inch of rain on Friday night that washed some of the sand away.

Our Division one Scratch team and the combined Beechworth/Yackandandah women's team were in semi finals looking to book a spot in the finals.

Unfortunately both teams went down missing out on the chance to win two titles in a row.
Not sure what the women's match results were in the end but they all enjoyed themselves.

In the Division 1 Scratch it was a close result in the end. Unfortunately Jarryd Pritchard and Josh Carr at number 5 and 4 respectively both went down early.
At number three Darren Edwards was all square after the 18 holes and at number 2 Vaughan Saunders was in the same position after the 18 holes. There was a large crowd gathered around the last hole as Dylan Pool at number 1 was coming down the fairway (a very rare sight). It was a chip off, with Dylan knocking it to about 4 foot for a chance at birdie. With his apponent hitting it to 12 foot then missing the putt Dylan drained the birdie putt to win 1 up. Finishing the season undefeated at number 1 all season.

This meant that we needed both the number 3 and 2 matches to win going up the 19th hole.
Unfortunately for us Darren Edwards was outdone with his apponent hitting two great shots into the 1st hole and Darren unable to match him with a par.
Apon seeing these two shake hands Vaughan and his apponent picked up their balls and called it a draw.

This meant the team went down 3.5/1.5 and Yarrawonga advancing to the final.

In the Section 1 handicap the undermanned 4 player team unfortunately went down 4&1 to Bright at Myrtleford. Jacob (Yogi) Howard was the sole winner smashing his apponent 6&5.

The club thanks everyone who played pennant this season. Which was difficult to field teams at times, due to player unavailabilities, most the time owing to covid.

This coming Sunday is Mothers Day and at this stage a Stableford event will be played at Beechworth with the May Monthly Medal to be played the following Sunday on May the 15th.

Below in the Beechworth/Yackandandah combined Women's Pennant team that had the tough task of playing Howlong at Howlong today for a spot on the final.
